Conduct Employee Interview
This template helps you to conduct employee interviews and gather insights about your team members, their experiences, and organizational aspects.
Pre-configured

Template Configuration Fields
This section provides detailed documentation for each field in the Employee Interview template configuration.
Header
The information that you enter in the header part is only meant for you. These are the only fields that will not be taken into account by the interview agent.
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name | The display name for your interview template. This is how you will see it within your account. | "Employee Interview - Team Feedback" |
| Description | A brief description of what this interview agent is trying to achieve. Just for internal information. The AI agent will not use this field. | "Gather insights about employee satisfaction and workplace experience" |
Interview
Help the AI understand, what this interview is all about. The better and more precise and more detailed your input, the better the interview quality.
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Topic | The main subject or theme of the interview | "Employee feedback interview for workplace improvement" |
| Description | Detailed explanation of the interview's purpose and scope | "Conducting employee interviews to understand workplace satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and gather feedback on company culture and processes." |
| Occasion | The reason for this interview. | [Performance review], [Feedback collection], [Exit interview], [Onboarding check-in], [Career development], [Other] |
Interviewee
Interviewee = The person being interviewed
Explain to the AI, who will be interviewed. The more precise you can make it, the better the AI can address the interviewee and react to answers.
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Persona Label | The type of person that this interview is for. Can be a job title, can be a demographic or a type of company. Can also be a combination of job title and company type. | "Software Engineers at SuperPrint with 2+ years experience" |
| Persona Description | Detailed description of the target audience. | "This interview is for software engineers who have been with the company for at least 2 years and can provide valuable insights about their work experience, team dynamics, and suggestions for improvement." |
Interviewer
Interviewer = Your Voice AI agent
Tell the AI, how it should behave during the interview.
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Use Active Listening | Enable/disable the desired response behavior of the AI. 'Enabled' means each user response is repeated and asked, whether the response is complete. 'Disabled' means that answers are not repeated. Both options can make sense, depending on the priorities. | [enabled] --> In an employee interview it can make sense to let the AI repeat the input of the user and ask if the answer to a specific question is complete. |
| Guidance | Any kind of instructions for how the AI should conduct or guide through the interview | "Be empathetic and supportive. Create a safe space for honest feedback. Ask follow-up questions to understand the context better. Maintain confidentiality and reassure the employee that their responses are valuable." |
Questions
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Questions | The specific questions to ask during the interview. Either let the AI decide the questions or name each question yourself. [Free (let the interviewer decide)] = The AI is making up the question. Less effort to set up and more freedome for the AI. Harder to evaluate multiple interviews afterwards as conversations are more diverse. [Specify] = You provide a list of questions that the AI will follow. | Selected Option = Specify |
Background Information
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Organization Name | The name of your company or organization. Use the name that you want the AI to use in the conversation. If relevant, you probably want to use the informal name of your company and not your legal version ('TechCorp' instead of 'TechCorp Inc.'). The agent will say something then like "Hi, I'm the assistant of Tesla" and not "Hi, I'm the assistant of Tesla Inc." If left empty the AI will use the name you provided at signup as backup. | "SuperPrint" |
| Organization Description | Brief description of your company. Give some facts about your company so that the AI has a better context for the interview. | "SuperPrint is an innovative 3D printing technology company based in Munich, Germany. The team of around 35 engineers and developers combines expertise in mechanical engineering, material science, and software development. SuperPrint builds custom industrial 3D printers for mid- to large-sized manufacturing companies such as BOSCH, Airbus, and Continental. Their core focus lies in creating advanced hardware and intelligent control software that enables high-precision, multi-material printing for prototyping and production. ..." |
| Further Information | Additional context that might be relevant for the interview Can be anything that would help the AI to ask better follow-up questions or to interpret the user's responses: Background motives, FAQs, information on relevant products or projects, industry information ... Can also be anything that would help the AI to correctly answers that the user is asking during the interview. | Remote working policies Employer benefits Child care measures |
Voice Chat Adapter
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Voice Chat Adapter | The configuration of the AI voice model. Should be left unchanged. Talk to us if you would like to use your own OpenAI realtime model instead. | [Use your default] |
Extra configuration: expressions and custom variables
Note that you can use something called 'Expressions' in ValueFlow.
Every text field has a hidden option called 'Expressions'. If you hover over the right corner of a text field, the expression option will appear. If you enable this option, then this field looks for expressions that have a format like this:
{{$org.vars.myVar}}
This allows you to use Custom Variables that you previously created within your profile section.
The advantage of custom variables is that you can write regularly used text paragraphs once and save it as a custom variable. Then, instead of writing - say your company description - over and over again for each interview agent, you can simply use the variable whenever you need that text.
